In science, Charles Darwin (1809-1882) was an English naturalist known for his theory of evolution, which states that all species of life have evolved over time from one or a few common ancestors through the process of natural selection.
Origin of Species
In 1837, Darwin notebooks (the precursors to his famous 1859 book) were given the provisional title The Transmutation of Species, which is said to have meant to convey a type of chemical language. [6]
In 1859, Darwin published the finalized version of his draft theory along with scientific evidence in his On , in which he cites three people as having been forefunner theorists to his own evolution theory:
Erasmus Darwin (1791), and Etienne Saint-Hilaire (1833) [1]
Elective Affinities | Natural selection
In 1861, in the third edition of
Origin of Species, Darwin added the following concerning criticism raised about the term ‘natural selection’: [8]“Several writers have misapprehended or objected to the term Natural Selection. Some have even imagined that natural selection induces variability, whereas it implies only the preservation of such variations as occur and are beneficial to the being under its conditions of life. No one objects to agriculturists speaking of the potent effects of man's selection; and in this case the individual differences given by nature, which man for some object selects, must of necessity first occur. Others have objected that the term selection implies conscious choice in the animals which become modified; and it has even been urged that as plants have no volition, natural selection is not applicable to them! In the literal sense of the word, no doubt,
natural selection is a misnomer; but who ever objected to chemists speaking of the elective affinities of the various elements ? — and yet an acid cannot strictly be said to elect the base with which it will in preference combines.

Throughout his time in Hollywood, Grant was rumoured to be homosexual or bisexual. In 1932 he met fellow actor Randolph Scott on the set of Hot Saturday, and the two shared a rented beach house (known as "Bachelor Hall") on and off for twelve years. Rumors ran rampant at the time that Grant and Scott were lovers. Authors Marc Elliot, Charles Higham and Roy Moseley consider Grant to have been bisexual, with Higham and Moseley claiming that Grant and Scott were seen kissing in a public carpark outside a social function both attended in the 1960s. In his book, Hollywood Gays, Boze Hadleigh cites an interview with homosexual director George Cukor, who said about the alleged homosexual relationship between Scott and Grant: "Oh, Cary won't talk about it

FOR GOD'S SAKE
Thursday (Feb. 12) we will celebrate the 200th birthdays of both Abraham Lincoln and Charles Darwin. The parallels in their lives provide valuable insight for the Presbyterian Church USA, which embarks this week on a major process of inquiry into the place of gay marriage and civil unions in the church and in the country.
The parallels in Lincoln's and Darwin's lives are also useful for the rest of a nation, which remains as bitterly divided over issues of homosexuality as we are about creation and evolution, and as we once were over human slavery

by GodAlmightyIn the mid 1500's, Galileo, under penalty of death by the Catholic church, had to recant his awful heresy of teaching that the moon was not smooth. He had dared to suggest that the doctrines of Aristotle as taught by the church could be wrong! He wrote a second book to say that he was wrong and that the moon was perfectly smooth...We face the same thing today. The faulty teaching of evolution is hindering scientific progress.
Voltaire consorted with the gay;
Voltair had a deist friend as a young man named Abbe de Chateuneuf, a bachelor and probably a homosexual
